The MC74LCX245 is a high-performance non-inverting octal transceiver that operates from 2.0 V to 5.5 V. High-impedance TTL-compatible inputs significantly reduce input driver current loading, while TTL-compatible outputs improve switching noise performance. The VI specification of 5.5V enables the MC74LCX245 inputs to be safely driven from 5V devices. The MC74LCX245 is suitable for memory address driven and all TTL level bus oriented transceiver applications. Current drive capability is 24mA on both A and B ports. The transmit/receive (T/Rbar) input determines the direction of data flow through the bidirectional transceiver. Transmit (active high) allows data to flow from port A to port B; receive (active low) enables data to flow from port B to port A. The output enable input, if high, puts the A port and the B port into a high Z state, thereby disabling both.
