The VHC132 is an advanced high-speed CMOS 2-input NAND Schmitt Trigger gate fabricated in a silicon-gate CMOS process. It achieves high-speed operation similar to bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining CMOS low power consumption. The pin configuration and function are the same as the VHC00, except that the input has hysteresis between positive and negative going input thresholds, enabling the conversion of slowly changing input signals into clearly defined jitter-free output signals. This provides better interference margin than conventional inverters. An input protection circuit ensures that 0V to 7V is applied to the input pins regardless of the supply voltage. This device can be used to interface 5V systems with 3V systems and both power systems, such as battery backup. This circuit prevents damage to the device due to mismatched supply and input voltages.
