The VHC08 is an advanced high-speed CMOS 2-input AND gate fabricated in a silicon-gate CMOS process. It achieves high-speed operation similar to an equivalent bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining the low power consumption of CMOS. This internal circuit consists of 4 stages including buffered outputs that provide high noise immunity and stable output. An input protection circuit ensures that 0V to 7V is applied to the input pins regardless of the supply voltage. The device can be used as an interface between 5V and 3V systems as well as two power systems such as battery backup. This circuit prevents damage to the device due to mismatched supply and input voltages.
