The MOC8021M and MOC8050M are opto-Darlington optocouplers. These devices have gallium arsenide infrared emitting diodes coupled to silicon Darlington phototransistors.

These optocouplers consist of an AlGaAS LED optically coupled to a very high-speed integrated photodetector logic gate. These devices include a tunable output. This output has an open collector, thus allowing a wired OR output. Coupling parameters are guaranteed from -40°C to +85°C. Input signals up to 5 mA provide a minimum output sink of 13 mA (fan-out 8). Internal noise shielding provides excellent common-mode rejection, typically 50 kV/µs at 1,000V common-mode.
