The LM285/LM385 series are micropower two-terminal bandgap voltage regulator diodes. These devices operate over a wide current range from 10 µA to 20 mA, have very low dynamic impedance, low noise, and are stable over time and temperature. Smaller voltage tolerances are achieved through on-chip trimming. The large dynamic operating range enables these devices to be used in applications with multiple power supply types with excellent regulation. The very low operating current makes these devices suitable for use in micropower circuits such as portable instruments, voltage regulators, and other analog circuits requiring long battery life. The LM285/LM385 series of encapsulations are available in low cost TO-226AA plastic cases in 1.235 and 2.500 V voltage versions, specified by device suffix (see ordering information table). The LM285 is specified for operation from -40C to +85C, and the LM385 is rated from 0C to +70C. The LM385 is also available in surface mount plastic encapsulation for 1.235 and 2.500 V voltages.
