The FOD819 includes a gallium arsenide (GaAs) infrared emitting diode within a 4-pin dual inline plug-inencapsulation driving a silicon photo-darlington output with an integrated base emitter resistor RBE. It is suitable as a higher performance replacement for the popular FOD817 series when higher speed performance is required in isolated data signal transmission.
