The NCP630 is a low-drainage (LDO) forward linear regulator capable of guaranteeing an output current of 3.0 A over a wide temperature range with a maximum drain voltage of 1.25 V at 3.0 A. The fast start-up time allows step changes in loads common in low voltage microprocessor applications. The NCP630 is available in an adjustable output version (programmable down to 1.2 V with two external resistors) and a 3.47 V fixed output version. On-chip trimming adjusts the reference/output voltage to within +/- 1.5% accuracy. Internal protection features include output current limit and thermal shutdown. NCP630 uses D2PAK encapsulation.
