The high-performance silicon-gate CMOS MC74HCT14A can be used as a level shifter to interface TTL or NMOS outputs to high-speed CMOS inputs. The HCT14A has the same pinout as the LS14. The HCT14A is used to "square shape" slower input rise and fall times. Due to the hysteresis voltage of the Schmitt trigger, the HCT14A is suitable for applications in noisy environments.
