The MC74VHCT244A is an advanced high-speed CMOS octal bus buffer fabricated on a silicon-gate CMOS process. It achieves high-speed operation similar to an equivalent bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining the low power consumption of CMOS. The MC74VHCT244A is a non-inverting 3-state buffer with two active low output enables. This device is designed for use as a 3-state memory address driver, among others. The VHCT input is compatible with TTL levels. The device has a full 5V CMOS level output swing and can be used as a level shifter to interface 3.3V to 5.0V. The VHCT244A input and output (when disabled) structures provide protection when 0 - 5.5V is applied regardless of the supply voltage. These input and output structures help prevent device damage due to supply voltage - input/output voltage mismatch, battery backup, hot insertion, etc.
