The high-performance silicon-gate CMOS MC74HCT373A can be used as a level shifter to interface TTL or NMOS outputs to high-speed CMOS inputs. HCT373A has the same pinout as LS373. The eight latches of HCT373A are transparent D-type latches. When the latch enable input is high, the Q output will follow the data input. When latch enable is low, data that meets the setup and hold time requirements becomes latched. Output enable does not affect the state of the latches, but all outputs are forced to a high impedance state when output enable is high. Therefore, data can be latched even if the output is not enabled. The HCT373A is functionally identical to the HCT573A which has an input pin on the opposite side of the encapsulation from the output pin. This device is functionally similar to the HCT533A, which has an inverting output.
