The FAN3268 dual 2-A gate driver is suitable for driving high-side P-channel MOSFETs and low-side N-channel MOSFETs in motor control applications operating on voltage rails up to 18 V. The driver has TTL input thresholds and provides buffering and level shifting based on logic inputs. Internal circuitry provides an undervoltage lockout feature that prevents output switching devices from operating when the VDD supply voltage is below operating levels. An internal 100kΩ resistor biases the non-inverting output low and the inverting output to VDD to keep the external MOSFET off during the start-up interval when the logic control signal is absent. The FAN3268 driver integrates the MillerDrive structure for the final output stage. This bipolar MOSFET combination provides high current during the Miller plateau phase of the MOSFET turn-on/turn-off process to minimize switching losses while providing rail-to-rail voltage swing and reverse current capability. FAN3268 provides two independent enable pins, which are turned on by default if not connected. If the enable pin for non-inverting channel A is pulled low, OUTA is forced low; if the enable pin for inverting channel B is pulled low, OUTB is forced high. If one input is left unconnected, internal resistors bias the inputs so that the external MOSFETs are off.
